Learn to Read George Canine is a unique literacy app:
- The content and delivery method aligns with the most recent New South Wales Department of Education guidelines for an early reading programme.
- The lessons are clearly taught and carefully sequenced so that students build up their literacy skills.
- The lessons are highly interactive, engaging and motivating. All of the content is practised through games.
- The instruction includes multi-sensory experiences, that is, visual, auditory and tactile experiences, like letter finger-tracing. Research shows that this is the most effective way to learn.
- From the very first lesson onwards, students are shown how their newly learned skills can be used to read, spell and write letters and words.
- Positive and constructive feedback is provided for every response.
- The instruction and interactive practice games are woven into imaginative, familiar stories with which students can identify. This strategy enables students to connect their reading experiences with real-life experiences.
- The app is designed for teacher-led sessions, or it can be used independently by students.

Latest reviews of Learn to Read George Canine app for iPhone and iPad

As a kindergarden teacher I rate this app really highly. The pacing is excellent, the repetition is necessary, the multi-sensory approach is appropriate, and the narrative is enchanting. My students love it and I'll be using it next year with my next group of young learners.

My son's just turned 5 and is glued to this app. I didn't know he could concentrate for that long. He's right into the dog. Bring on lesson 2.
